Our Philosophy

Our mission is to provide the highest quality health care that promotes empowerment, enhances wellness and strengthens our community. The clinical team at Beacon Behavioral Health Associates will work closely with other professionals to provide the most comprehensive care for our clients and families. We collaborate with primary care clinicians, specialists, nutritionists, alternative health providers, and other professionals in the area to support your total health and wellness. Some services are provided on site by our associated clinicians and some are provided by direct referrals.

Our Staff

Cheryl Greene is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has been working with children, teens, adults and families for the past 15 years. She attended the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth where she received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and also Lesley University for her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology. She has worked in a variety of settings which include public schools, residential settings, community outreach, mental health clinics and private practice. Cheryl's approach to therapy is holistic, strength-based and collaborative. She values the mind-body connection and incorporates the creative process to assist with healing, growth and self-discovery.

Katie Byrne is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She has been serving both children and adults in the behavioral health field for over 25 years. She attended Westfield State University for her Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and Communications. She received her Registered Nurse (RN) training over 20 years ago and practiced in the acute and critical care hospital settings. She received her Master's of Science in Nursing at Northeastern University and is currently working toward her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree. Katie enjoys teaching and sharing her knowledge, as a professor of Nursing. Katie uses a trauma-informed, holistic approach to treatment and provides helpful psycho-education to her patients and family members. Katie is passionate about educating and advocating for her patients. She is involved in ongoing research studies and provides psychopharmacology services to all ages.

Pamela Matthews is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who has worked in the community with behavioral care for over 20 years. She attended Gordon College for Bachelors in Social Work and Sociology. She also holds a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art and a Bachelors in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing. She received her Master's of Science in Nursing at Regis College. Pamela enjoys supporting individuals through a holistic and creative approach treating the whole individual by promoting active strategies to increase wellness through effective listening and planning to enhance wellness by reduction in symptoms. Pamela is an enthusiastic advocate for self healing through the use of nutrition, exercise, and self care along with pharmacological remedies to combat ailments such as; depression, substance abuse, anxiety, and trauma as well as treating a variety of mental health issues for all ages. Pamela strives to bring to her practice current research in pharmacological options to endeavor for the best outcomes for clients
