Katie and Phil Byrne founded Beacon Behavioral Health Associates (BBHA) in 2017 with a shared commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care to individuals and families across the lifespan.
Katie Byrne, PMHNP-BC, is a doctorally prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of experience in behavioral health. She provides TMS, and comprehensive psychopharmacology services using a trauma-informed, holistic approach that integrates clinical expertise with patient education and empowerment. Katie earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Northeastern University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Regis College. In addition to her clinical work, she serves as a professor and preceptor for nurse practitioner students, fostering excellence in the next generation of mental health providers.

Philip Byrne, RN, has been a Registered Nurse for over two decades and brings extensive experience from acute care, memory care, and surgical settings. As a Certified Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) technician and holistic practitioner, Phil combines technical precision with a calm, compassionate presence. He is dedicated to advancing TMS practice and integrating innovative, evidence-based modalities into patient care.
Together, Katie and Phil lead BBHA with a focus on clinical excellence, patient-centered treatment, and advancing modern mental health care.

Jessica Carlin is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and has been practicing as a nurse practitioner for the past 20 years. She also earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) with her thesis work focused on caring for families and children with chronic or life threatening illness. Jessica also was a nursing instructor for 12 years and believes that education about one's mental health and treatment options is an important part of healing. As a PMHNP, she enjoys working with patients across the lifespan. She believes in a holistic approach to medication management and psychotherapy, understands the importance of collaboration with her patient’s healthcare providers to provide a safe and comprehensive treatment plan and establishes a trusting relationship with the patients she feels honored to work with. She is welcoming patients of all ages with a variety of mental health issues, and specializes in trauma/PTSD, LGBTQIA+ issues, and adjusting to chronic illness. Jessica is currently working towards certification in integrative psychiatry to better understand the root cause of mental health issues.

Joleen Connolly
Joleen Connolly is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who provides comprehensive psychiatric medication management for adults. She offers care in a therapeutic and supportive environment designed to help clients reach their personal goals.
Joleen graduated Cum Laude from UMass Boston twice, earning Bachelor of Science degrees in both Psychology/Sociology and Nursing. After 16 years as a Registered Nurse she went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Nursing from MCPHS University.
As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Joleen integrates a holistic and individualized approach to care, drawing upon principles of lifestyle psychiatry and functional medicine. She emphasizes education, self-advocacy, and resilience-building to help clients feel empowered in their daily lives.
Joleen prefers to meet new clients in person for their initial intake appointment, fostering a collaborative and comfortable start to treatment. In addition to her clinical work, she is passionate about education and enjoys serving as a clinical preceptor for future nurses and nurse practitioners.

Erin Emerson is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She has been working in health care for over 20 years with experience in cardiac acute care. ICU, cardiac rehab and as a community mental health nurse. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from UMASS Amherst with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northeastern University earning her Master’s of Science in Nursing. Erin specializes in ADHD, anxiety and depression and works to improve both physical and mental health through diet, exercise, meditation, sleep hygiene and psychopharmacology services. She embraces a whole-body approach in her care and tries to encourage autonomy and self-growth. Erin makes
collaborative care a priority and works with physicians and therapists to ensure positive
outcomes are met. Erin is passionate about educating and advocating for her patients. She provides psychopharmacology services to adults.

Cheryl Greene is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, MA, LMHC. She has been working with children, adults and families in a variety of settings for over 20 years. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Lesley University.
Cheryl interweaves both traditional and creative modalities when working with clients. Her approach is trauma informed, holistic, individualized and strength based. She is passionate about and maintains current, ongoing education in the practices of Trauma Informed Expressive Arts Therapy and Sensorimotor Expressive Arts Therapy. This includes the integration of art forms such as visual arts, music/sound, movement, narrative story telling and writing, all as psychotherapeutic processes utilized to enhance and restore an individual’s mental health and well being. In addition to Expressive Therapy practices, Cheryl's interests and studies include complementary somatic, mind-body, and "brain wise" approches.

Kathleen Hood
Kathleen Hood is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She has been working in healthcare for over 15 years, with experience in the acute care setting, community mental health, and inpatient psychiatric care for adolescents. Kathleen has been passionate about helping others since she was a child. She graduated from Laboure College with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, from Curry College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, and from Regis College with a Master’s of Science in Nursing. Kathleen has taught nursing students as a professor at a local community college, has precepted nursing students for many years and loves to share her knowledge and passion for patient care and helping others. Kathleen believes in a holistic approach to patient care and enjoys collaborating with all members of a patient’s health care team. She enjoys providing psychopharmacology services and psycho-education to patients of all ages.

Alison is a dual Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 18 years of diverse experience in the medical field. Her unique expertise spans both physical and mental health, allowing her to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care that addresses the whole person.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Alison specializes in compassionate, evidence-based mental health care, helping clients navigate challenges and achieve emotional well-being. She believes in the importance of the mind-body connection and takes a holistic approach to support mental wellness, incorporating mindfulness, stress management, and lifestyle modifications into her treatment plans.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Alison brings a wealth of experience in acute and outpatient care, treating individuals and families across the lifespan. Her dual training allows her to offer a seamless integration of physical and mental health care, ensuring her clients receive comprehensive support tailored to their unique needs.
Alison’s dedication to wellness extends beyond the clinic. A certified yoga instructor, she encourages balance and mindfulness as key components of overall health. Alison is passionate about empowering clients to achieve their health and wellness goals, creating a safe, supportive environment for growth and healing.

Pamela Matthews is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who has worked in the community with behavioral care for over 20 years. She attended Gordon College for Bachelors in Social Work and Sociology. She also holds a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art and a Bachelors in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing. She received her Master's of Science in Nursing at Regis College. Pamela enjoys supporting individuals through a holistic and creative approach treating the whole individual by promoting active strategies to increase wellness through effective listening and planning to enhance wellness by reduction in symptoms. Pamela is an enthusiastic advocate for self healing through the use of nutrition, exercise, and self care along with pharmacological remedies to combat ailments such as; depression, substance abuse, anxiety, and trauma as well as treating a variety of mental health issues for all ages. Pamela strives to bring to her practice current research in pharmacological options to endeavor for the best outcomes for clients

Christine Mosher has been an LICSW for over 20 years. She started her private practice part-time in Foxboro, MA in 2019, and transitioned her practice to full-time in Buzzards Bay, MA in 2020. Christine graduated from Boston College with her MS in Human Resources Management, and received her Masters in Social Work at Rhode Island College. While at Boston College, Christine played for the Varsity Women’s Soccer Team and later coached several youth, high school and women’s teams. She was the founder of the Cape Cod Women’s Soccer League, and recently co-founded a consulting group, Athlete Wellness Consultants, providing education, training and consultation to coaches, athletes, and teams on athlete mental health. Due to her passion for sports, Christine especially enjoys working with current and former athletes. Christine provides psychotherapy to individuals ages 10 and up struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, eating disorders, trauma and relationship issues. Christine uses a collaborative approach, and helps clients improve their lives by focusing on developing effective communication and coping skills, and improving overall health and wellness.

Kailen is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She earned her bachelor of arts at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, then earned her RN at Greenfield Community College, her Masters Degree in nursing from University of Phoenix, and completed her PMHNP certification at UMass Dartmouth. Kailen has over 20 years of experience as a nurse. She has experience working with parents and babies during the childbearing year, working with adults as an oncology nurse, and as a nursing leader. Kailen is passionate about helping individuals and families live their “best life”, honoring the self and nurturing each person’s innate desire to find satisfaction and connection. She treats the whole person, enjoys sharing practical coping strategies, incorporating complementary therapies, providing psychopharmacology treatments, and collaborating with the entire healthcare team. Kailen is welcoming new patients from children through adulthood.
